Since 2009 the Department of Sociology offers all Bachelor’s students, currently completing other degrees at the University of Vienna, the opportunity to take courses as part of the extension curriculum. All courses are held in German and therefore require German proficiency at the Level C1.

EC Empirical Sociology
EC Sociological Analysis of Society

Additionally, two extension curricula on quantitative methods have been made available since W2014, which have been developed by the Department of Economic Sociology and the former Center for Methods of Social Sciences. Administration for these extension curricula is managed by the directorate of studies 23.

EC Quantitative Methods in Social and Behavioral Sciences - Basics
EC Quantitative Methods in Social and Behavioral Sciences - Advanced

Students, who are enrolled in the bachelor’s program of Sociology cannot complete any of the mentioned extension curricula. However, it is possible to register for a few select classes of both latter mentioned extension curricula as part of the elective module for social sciences.
